News June 2023
CJ Duncan Builders is excited to announce the awarding of a significant insurance reinstatement contract for commercial client Goodman Fielder and insurer Zurich.
Following a major fire outbreak at their Moorebank manufacturing facility, in August 2022, CJ Duncan where successful at tendering the final phase of fire reinstatement works to enable the recommissioning of the manufacturing facility, led by client-side consultant Assurance Project Management.
CJ Duncan’s delivery team led by Project Manager James O’Neill and Site Manager Kurt Hamilton have been actively involved in coordinating the reinstatement works with a large and experienced subcontracting team. The scope entailed extensive structural steel replacement and remediation along with structural masonry propping, reconstruction and strengthening. The structural repairs are also to be followed by extensive decontamination and waste management of soot, debris and residue associated with the major fire.
The complexity of this project, often requiring careful coordination to ensure critical infrastructure and manufacturing activities are not impacted, goes to show the experience and expertise that CJ Duncan Builders have in the insurance reinstatement space.
The works at Goodman Fielder are scheduled to be completed by December 2023, aligning with the client’s overall plan to have the facility back to full operational capacity by early 2024.
